This park was designed to participate in the competition held by the Department of Public Works in Sharjah - UAE .
The assignment was to design a park in a new community in Al Dhaid city, hence, it had to be under a budget of 4.5 million AED (1.2 million $).
On an area of 18,000 meters square, the park has to have sports fields, an amphitheater, family areas, and playgrounds.

The design of the park mimics a dining table for the community to gather around, where the fields are the main dishes.
the use of rubber crumbs to fill the fields achieves sustainability in three ways:
Sustainable ecologically: Produced locally by BEEAH by recycling tiers.
Sustainable economically: Requires minimum maintenance.
Sustainable aesthetically: Does not change color for a significant duration.

A platform is raised to unite the fields with two different heights.

Adding the running track and completing the landscaping of interlocking bricks with openings that highlight the natural soil where trees will grow naturally.

The tensile canopies are used to cover the fields, are affordable and mimic the traditional tents.
The smaller canopies are a continuing the dining table metaphor and represent each family’s plate on the table and come in two sizes.
5.
Reintroducing the native flora that changes seasonally to give a fresh look and doesn’t require maintenance.
